In early 2020, Robert, Lars, Graham, and Nat brought together their experience across investment, venture capital, banking, and startup building to launch an investment business.
Through working closely with founders, investors, and institutions, we quickly identified a deeper problem across the innovation ecosystem: connectivity was fragmented, discovery was inefficient, and meaningful opportunities were often lost in noise, disconnected networks, and unstructured processes.
Startups struggled to gain relevant visibility. Investors and institutions were overwhelmed by fragmented inbound opportunities and inefficient qualification processes. Ecosystem participants operated in silos, despite the rise of digital platforms and AI-driven communication.
We realized the ecosystem did not lack participants — it lacked structured connectivity.
That insight became the foundation of Vai: a Connectivity-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform designed to structure and accelerate how startups, investors, institutions, corporates, universities, and ecosystem partners discover, qualify, and connect with each other.
