In early 2020, Robert, Lars, Graham, and Nat combined their expertise in investment strategy, venture capital, and startup building to found an investment business.
Very early on, we identified significant inefficiencies in the innovation ecosystem. Many companies are not ready, information is not complete, expectations aren't realistic, startups use a scattergun approach or expensive lists to chase investors—it is a mess... Investors are buried under thousands of deals many of them don't match their investment criteria or the timing is wrong or they simply disappear off the radar. Even when connections are made, many become pointless and ideas are lost.
Despite the connectivity of social media and the power of AI, there is nothing on the market that solves this problem holistically. Thus, the idea of Vai was born to build a connectivity hub for startups and investors and therefore a single point of connection for the innovation ecosystem.
